Gratefulness

One of the wonderful things about our culture is that we have designated days of the year to, if we are paying attention, show our gratefulness.  Thanksgiving Day is the obvious leader in this category.  We could also call out Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Veteran’s Day as times to express our appreciation for our parents and for those serving in our armed forces.

This weekend we celebrate Memorial Day, where we should show our appreciation and respect for the men and women of our military that have given their lives to preserve our freedom and help our country.  Thank you and God bless every one of you!

Since I am on a roll, I have to mention our church community.  I am grateful that we have emerged from COVID and can now worship in person.  It is wonderful to see parishioners who have “disappeared” for 2 years.  I am also thankful for our church leadership and staff for all they did to help our parish navigate through “Zoom Church”, social distanced services and other accommodations.  Now that Father Josh has finally been able to take his overdue sabbatical, we are blessed to have Rev Erin Jean Warde take his place this summer.

Welcome to Holy Spirit, Rev. Warde and thank you for being with us!
