The Rev. Mitchell “Mitch” Tollett
Rector
The Rev. Mitchell Tollett grew up in Houston in the Meyerland area. Fr. Mitch graduated from the University of Houston and the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin. He served in the United States Navy as an electrician, and later as a programmer for companies in the Houston area.
He enjoys cooking, grilling, and hanging out with his family among other things. Fr. Mitch was a curate at Christ Episcopal Church and School in Temple and served as rector of St. Francis in Tyler for over ten years.
The Rev. Tollett believes, “Love God, Love Neighbor, change the World.” He is married to Camille. Camille is a loving wife and mother of their son Jimmy.
Michael Sturdy
Curate
Michael Sturdy is a recent graduate of the School of Theology in Sewanee, TN. Born into an Air Force family, he moved several times in childhood, but has spent the majority of his life living in the I-35 corridor, from San Antonio to Dallas.
An historian by education, Michael holds two degrees from Baylor University and has worked in museum education, youth ministry, and the energy sector. In his free time, he enjoys reading science fiction, going on walks, and cooking.
Michael is motivated by two Biblical statements: “The Kingdom of God is near” and “The joy of the Lord is my strength.” He has a passion for making learning available and accessible to all, regardless of their educational background.
Michael is the husband of Lauren Sturdy and father of Catherine (7) and Cash (4).
Michael will join Holy Spirit on July 1, 2025.
