John Brun
Organist & Choir Director
The pipe organ became a fascination for him forty-four years ago when as an acolyte he was sitting in front of an organ chamber and watching the organist play. The sound, pedal board, keyboards, and most of all the buttons and knobs where irresistible and organ lessons began at the age of twelve. John has a Bachelor of Music in organ performance from Louisiana State University and a Master of Music in organ performance from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University where he studied with Dr. Clyde B. Holloway. When not playing the organ John enjoys yoga, playing with the family rabbit Buttons, and watching his daughter Anna play club volleyball.
