God Knew our Path

My wife and I first attended Holy Spirit at the end of 2018. Following the service we were immediately met by Lisa Wright, then Sarah Condon, and finally Allison Nieto. They each offered no pressure, very genuine we are here for you and would love to have you in our church quick conversations. The following weeks we met other families that offered the same genuine welcome to our church introductions. It wasn’t a hard decision to make to call Holy Spirit our church home soon after.

This past school year we decided last minute to enroll our son into HSES. We thought this was best for our convenience to be a lot closer to our house than his previous school, but we would learn God was putting a plan in place. In November our son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Because of Covid only one parent could stay in the hospital with him. I left them and went home to start letting family know and then to email his teachers that he wouldn’t be back for a little while. I quickly received an email back from my son’s teacher that she was a type 1 diabetic herself and she promised she would take care of him when he returned to class. We knew God was answering prayers before we had time to even start them. Further, the nurse’s office was right across the hall from his classroom, his classroom was moved right before this school year. The nurses were just as welcoming and assuring that Bryant would be well taken care of.

At his first checkup after being released from the hospital, we were given another shock in that his blood work revealed that he has Celiac’s disease. Upon telling the teachers he would miss another day for a procedure to confirm it, his Assistant Teacher informed us she has Celiac disease. Again, she would take care of him while he was away from us. Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” God knew the path we would walk before it was known to us. God has been in our lives in great and trying times and He is definitely on the grounds of our Church and School!

God’s Blessings,
