. . . Like a Mustard Seed . . .
Dear fellow members of the Holy Spirit congregation,
I am blessed to introduce myself as the Stewardship Chair this year. Our theme, “…like a mustard seed”, brings me to reflect that each one of us is like a mustard seed: our contributions to the church, through our annual pledges, combine to create something far greater than that one seed.
Our hope this year was to return to activities that the pandemic forced us to give up. Thankfully, with God’s grace, we have returned to fully participative church services, Sunday School, SREN, First Sunday Breakfast and more. We have found joy in each other’s company in so many ways while also finding new pathways to connect online for members who may not be able to join us in person.
I believe stewardship is a transformational act of love. Together, through our acts of stewardship and giving, we transform the walls of a building into the church much like a mustard seed growing into a great tree. We give of ourselves as chalice bearers, acolytes, alter guild members, vestry, choir members and more. We also sustain the church through our planned financial support, which we call a pledge, to ensure we have amazing clergy and staff, beautiful grounds and buildings, and wonderful programs for all members, our school, and the community. Without your pledge, we would not be able to sustain our daily needs or plan for future growth.
I ask you to prayerfully consider financially supporting Holy Spirit this coming year. Reflect on your connection to your church and the people here and please consider a modest increase in your pledge from last year if possible. Our pledges will ensure Holy Spirit continues to grow, bring new opportunities, and support us all in loving care.
Sincerely and with God’s Love,
Bailey Curtis Chairperson
