Good Things to Come

When Will Stafford shared his idea for the Stewardship theme this year, I knew immediately that he had put his finger on the pulse of our community.  “Joyous Together” embodies how I feel every time I get to see you.  Every Sunday I see new faces I have missed for months and seeing you all light up when you encounter each other is the love of God manifest.  We have weathered a worldwide event and to finally be on this side of it not only points to what we missed, but also how essential this community is.  I believe coming together is essential for our wellbeing as well as fulfilling our need to hear the assurance of God’s love.

While we have actively sought to provide as much space for you to connect these last 18 months and have made almost continuous adjustments, the Sunday of November 7 will mark a significant transition.  Sunday servers, donuts, and events will be re-introduced.  Our staff has been planning events like Thanksgiving Dinner Eucharist, Lessons and Carols, the Christmas Pageant, and more.

Throughout the pandemic, the vestry has worked diligently to be good stewards of our resources and our financial life remains stable and healthy.  Thank you to all of you who have continued to give to the ministry of your church.  I’d also like to give a shout out to the Endowment Board who helped with additional programs to keep us engaged as well as equipment to make our new streaming capabilities possible.

We are now embarking on the next phase of parish life and your participation makes it possible for us to come together as the Church.  Further, your financial pledge makes it possible to plan for all that God has in store for us in 2022.  Will Stafford offers an invitation below to consider a pledge and you have likely received your stewardship packet in the mail. I pray you will join us in being Joyous Together in the year ahead and I thank you in advance for all you do for our shared life of faith.
