All the Alleluias

I, like many of you, have now received my second vaccination! As I was leaving the HEB this afternoon, the nurse mentioned that in two weeks I will be considered fully vaccinated according to the CDC.  As I reflect on the uncertainty we were facing this time last year, I am astutely aware that I am cautiously optimistic that I will actually get to see all of you in the very near future.  I am also trying to let it sink in that Easter will hopefully be the last of a multitude of occasions when we had to try some new and different adaptation just to keep caring for our community.  This year has felt a bit like building the airplane while flying it.  The fact that we are still flying and will soon come in for landing is a testament to all who have worked so hard to continue the ministry of our wonderful church and school.  I am particularly grateful for your patience and support.  I have prayed for you all every day.

One of our first glimpses of what is to come will happen next Friday.  Our SREN group will be having a fiesta with food, fellowship, and many smiles.  The CDC has stated that any group of vaccinated people can gather inside without masks or distancing.  Even though it is described as a SREN event, any vaccinated adult is welcome. Please just let Shelia in the church office know so we can have plenty of Mexican food!

We have also begun the process of upgrading our A/V equipment.  We anticipate that we will be able to stream the 10:30 services early this summer which will allow us to start to return to a normal morning schedule and hopefully be ready to hit the ground running this fall!  The hope of all we anticipate is a palpable Easter blessing.  To start to see and experience new life coming from such difficulty moves my heart to hope and rejoice that our God makes all things new.  I pray all of us will be vaccinated soon and we will soon sing all the Alleluias in church, smiles showing and all, before long!

We love you and God loves you.
