Beginning the Lenten Season Together

My Dear Friends,

I just wanted to send a little note to everyone with a gentle reminder that we have begun the Lenten Season here at Holy Spirit.  It has been wonderful so far.  I want to thank the folks who have volunteered to assist with the many and various spiritual offerings during the season.  We look forward to, and need, parishioners to volunteer services during the rest of the season, Holy Week and Easter.

I encourage you to look below at the many offerings that we will have during Lent or to take one of the Lenten Schedules from the front table in the Church (put it on your fridge) and make some family decisions about how you might want to participate.  We will need many ministers at the Altar for worship during this busy season.  We always need new choir members (even if only for the Easter season).  We hope families will encourage their young ones to participate on Sundays and in other activities.  We need Acolytes (young and old).  Might you be interested in teaching Sunday School???

And remember, we have scheduled activities that include packings for Blessings in a Backpack.  We ALWAYS need food.  Check out which particular items we are in need of during the Lenten season.  Don’t forget the DOK project to collect purses and items for inside them for people in need.  These are important Lenten Practices, a form of prayer for the whole family to do together, to remember those in need and on the fringes of society today.

I continue to be honored to be part of this community and especially blessed to celebrate this Holy Lent with you all.

Peace and All Good.
Fr. Bob
