I love the fall at Holy Spirit because it seems like every week we have several exciting things happening. At the moment I am having a hard time staying at my desk because just outside the office are lots and lots of beautiful plants for our plant sale. I just want to go out and see them all. I hope you will come and take part in the plant sale and celebrate the many ways that life takes hold in and around our lives through the beauty of creation and the joy of bloom.
I am also here at my desk mentally preparing myself for FamFest! Tomorrow night you are invited to come have dinner, play games, see the petting zoo, and spend some time supporting our school. You are also invited to come with your throwing arm ready as I am joining other leaders on our campus in taking a turn in the dunking booth! I am so excited to see the spiritual and joyful growth happening in our school and to contemplate how it reflects the growth happening at our church! I believe God is doing something significant and wonderful on our campus and the growth in our relationship with our school in the last year has been one clear sign.
I could go on and on about the exciting things that have happened since we kicked off the school year about a month ago (awesome Capital Campaign kickoff last week, Blessing of the Animals, the celebration of Chris Metzger’s 100th birthday, school open house, baptisms, a great sermon preached by John Pitts this past Sunday, Youth Group, Sunday school, City Hall proclaiming Blessings in a Backpack day in Houston, and more…ok, so I did go on and on…). I am grateful that we get to share in this life together. May we pause to reflect on how much joy God takes in our joy together!
